The Wreck
6 MONTHS, I only had the car for 6 months to the day! W/B on Bain School Road towards Fairview (Mint Hill). Mercury Mountaineer's trailer slips off the road to the right. The trailer gets low and when it comes up to a driveway, the driveway acts as a ramp, the trailer tips, hops, and then topples into oncoming traffic (me). The Civic really did do a great job in the absorption of the impact. However, a single 3 foot solid steel pry bar breached the laminated glass. It came to rest in the passenger seat, with the opposite end laying on the dashboard above the stereo, mere inches from where I ducked down, avoiding the shattering glass. |

After the fire department moved the car off the road. |
Damage extended the the left side of the car in some places. |
It appears that the trailer was dragged along the front of the bumper as well. |
The interior of the car is coated with glass. There is a piece of broken wood from the trailer resting on the console. You can see this if you click on the picture. |
The roof really took a beating from the trailer, apparently rolling or being dragged over the Civic. |
Brads for an automatic nailer where all over the car and roadway. |
